This July, Mr. Smith makes his debut performing the role of B.F. Pinkerton in Puccini’s infamous tragedy, Madama Butterfly at Cincinnati Opera. This heartrending new production by Matthew Ozawa brings a contemporary twist to the story, presenting it from a bold and daring perspective with an all-Japanese and Japanese American creative team. Mr. Smith shares the stage with Karah Son as Cio-Cio-San, Nozomi Kato as Suzuki, Nmon Ford as Sharpless and Julius Ahn as Goro. Maestro Keitaro Harada conducts the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Opera Chorus.

Performances take place on 22nd, 27th and 29th July. Tickets and more information can be found here.
