House debut at Semperoper & return to the Met

Adam Smith begins his 2026/27 season with his house debut at Semperoper Dresden, as he jumps in to perform the role of Don José in Bizet’s Carmen. Smith performs in a production by Nadja Loschky, conducted by  Lorenzo Passerini, opposite Caterina Piva as Carmen.

The tenor then returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Rodolfo in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème this October after a successful series of performances at the house last season. Smith received praise for his performance, with OperaWire noting that he “sang Rodolfo with a strong, lyrical voice.” 

Adam appears alongside a cast of acclaimed singers under the baton of Ramón Tebar with performances on October 9, 15, 22, 24, 28, and 31.
